$251,000 to $329,000

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a team focused on performance across Canva's Video experiences.
  • Define and drive long-term performance strategy for Canva's Video Group.
  • Partner with leaders across various teams to align performance investments with company priorities.
  • Establish performance as a first-class engineering principle.
  • Drive large-scale performance initiatives across web, native, and rendering systems.
  • Build performance measurement frameworks and telemetry systems.
  • Influence technical direction through architecture reviews and strategic planning.
  • Support career development and foster a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience leading engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Deep technical expertise in performance engineering or systems optimization.
  • Strong systems thinking across various platforms.
  • Experience developing multi-year technical strategies.
  • Ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
  • Effective communication of complex technical concepts.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with video technologies or real-time performance-sensitive platforms.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization challenges related to AI.
  • Understanding of mobile performance ecosystems.
