Senior Engineering Manager – User Platform (ANZ Remote)

This role is based in Sydney, NSW, Australia with hybrid work options available.

Responsibilities:

• Leading and growing the User Platform group – 4 teams and ~40 engineers.
• Setting the strategic direction for backend identity systems, including authentication and user access.
• Driving technical strategy and architecture across distributed systems and APIs.
• Championing security, scalability, and performance across user platform services.
• Supporting teams with coaching and mentorship.
• Building cross-functional relationships to align engineering direction with product goals.
• Hiring and scaling teams in line with company growth.

Requirements:

• Strong technical background in distributed backend systems.
• Experience leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Proficient in large-scale relational databases and API design.
• Ability to influence technical direction across boundaries.
• Passion for creating inclusive environments.
