Head of Platform Data Science (ANZ Remote)

This role is based in Sydney, Australia with hybrid work options available.

Responsibilities:

• Coaching a team of ~20 data specialists across three teams.
• Partnering with engineering leaders to shape Canva’s data strategy.
• Overseeing the data science roadmap for core data infrastructure.
• Driving technical excellence and championing data-informed decision-making.
• Leading analytics projects to improve system performance and reliability.
• Enabling strategic investments in AI and advanced analytics.
• Owning project prioritization and capacity planning.

Requirements:

• Experience leading high-performing data science and analytics teams.
• Ability to shape data roadmaps and partner with stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge of experimentation platform design and data systems.
• Strong communication skills to bridge technical and business audiences.
• Experience managing complex projects across multiple teams.
• Passion for elevating data-driven decision-making.
