This role is based in Sydney, Australia.

Responsibilities:

  • Build out new experiences for supporting the storage of new asset types in Canva.
  • Evolve existing experiences across Folders, Media, Video, Audio, Document, Search, and beyond.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design scalable solutions.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts within the team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the team’s domain.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

What you'll do:

  • Lead motivated engineers who build, run, and analyze features across the Canva product.
  • Coach engineers by providing regular feedback and help them reach their personal growth goals.
  • Set clear goals for the team and ensure a healthy collaborative environment.
  • Own the team’s development methodology and rituals.
  • Write and review design documents, break projects down into milestones, and ensure project delivery.
  • Work in cross-functional teams with UI/UX designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Get hands-on by writing code for the team’s features.
