Engineering Manager - Native Video Engine

This role is based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia.

Responsibilities:

• Leading a team building Canva’s Native Video Engine (NVE) for video playback, export, and editing.
• Driving strategy and execution across high-performance video rendering systems.
• Collaborating with various teams to deliver scalable video capabilities.
• Improving engineering quality through performance monitoring and testing practices.

Requirements:

• Experience leading engineering teams in complex technical environments.
• Strong technical judgment and communication skills.
• Experience with video creation workflows and rendering systems.

Nice to have:

• Experience with video processing, media pipelines, graphics rendering, and cross-platform build systems.
