Engineering Manager (infra) - Observability (ANZ Remote)

This role is based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia with hybrid work options available.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a high-performing engineering team with a focus on career development and impact.
• Define and execute Canva’s observability strategy in collaboration with other engineering leaders.
• Translate high-level goals into clear roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Ensure the reliability and performance of observability platforms.
• Drive modernization of the observability stack.

Requirements:

• Experience in technical leadership and team management.
• Background in large-scale distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Strong foundations in computer engineering and systems thinking.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience with OpenTelemetry and observability tools like Grafana.
• Proficiency in Go programming.
