Engineering Manager (infra) - Cloud Enablement (ANZ Remote)

This role is based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia with remote options available.

What you'll do:

• Lead and coach a team of platform engineers building cloud landing zones and governance foundations.
• Drive compliance by design through automation and clear developer workflows.
• Partner with Security, Risk & Compliance, and Platform teams for data-informed governance.
• Support Canva’s Containers Everywhere goal, establishing GCP as a first-class environment.
• Balance operational excellence with long-term platform strategy.
• Grow high performers through feedback and career development.
• Advocate for governance as an enabler of innovation.

Requirements:

• Experience managing infrastructure or platform teams through complex challenges.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure governance, ideally across AWS and/or GCP.
• Experience leading teams operating critical, highly-scaled systems.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for various stakeholders.
• Build trust and a strong team culture.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity.
