Engineering Manager (BE) - Revenue Platform (ANZ Remote)

This role is based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia with hybrid work options available.

Responsibilities:

• Lead one of Canva’s core revenue infrastructure teams.
• Guide the team through complex technical challenges.
• Own the team’s technical roadmap and project delivery.
• Coach and grow backend engineers.
• Partner with Product, Finance, and other teams for monetisation initiatives.
• Contribute to codebase and architectural decision-making.

Requirements:

• Backend expertise, ideally with financial systems experience.
• Experience leading backend engineering teams.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud infrastructure (especially AWS).
• Proficient in object-oriented programming languages like Java.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
