Engineering Manager (BE) - Revenue Platform (ANZ Remote)

This role is based in Brisbane, QLD, Australia with hybrid work options available.

Responsibilities:

• Lead one of Canva’s core revenue infrastructure teams.
• Guide the team through complex technical challenges, including scalable backend architecture and billing systems.
• Own the team’s technical roadmap and project delivery.
• Coach and grow backend engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Finance, and other teams.
• Contribute to the codebase and architectural decision-making.

Requirements:

• Backend expertise with experience in financial systems.
• Experience leading backend engineering teams.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud infrastructure (especially AWS).
• Comfortable with object-oriented programming languages like Java.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly across diverse stakeholder groups.
