This role is based in Austin, Texas.

What you'll do:

  • Lead design and implementation of secure, high-scale distributed backend services.
  • Partner with product managers to shape roadmaps and co-own outcomes.
  • Stay hands-on with system architecture and technical problem-solving.
  • Drive engineering excellence through best practices in API design and automated testing.
  • Manage scope, risk, and delivery across multiple projects.
  • Hire and develop a high-performing team of backend engineers.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance and scalability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of people management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Java or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of application security principles.
  • Experience with distributed systems and fault-tolerant design.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in retail or consumer-facing technology environments.
  • Strong executive communication skills.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams in dynamic environments.
