Lead Engineer (Traffic) - Apple Maps

This role is based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Responsibilities:

• Guide technical decisions and ensure high-quality engineering execution.
• Contribute by coding, reviewing, and architecting core traffic services.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers.
• Collaborate with product and data science teams to define roadmaps.
• Lead operational excellence for critical services.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in software development, particularly in backend systems.
• Strong foundation in algorithms and distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in traffic or geospatial systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or C++.
• Familiarity with scalable data architectures and cloud-native infrastructure.
