IT Systems Engineer, Client Platform Engineer, ChromeOS

About the role: The Endpoint team (Client Platform Engineering) manages the devices Anthropic’s people work on, plus the infrastructure underneath them. We treat the fleet as a distributed platform, not a collection of devices, and configuration ships as code through pull requests, CI, staging, and a canary group. Today the fleet is mostly macOS, with a growing mobile footprint.

Responsibilities: Own ChromeOS as a platform at Anthropic: device standards, Google Admin console and Chrome Enterprise setup, organizational unit design, and policy. Manage ChromeOS policy as code through the Chrome Policy API, GAM, and Terraform. Build zero touch enrollment through resellers. Work with IT Operations and procurement partners on buying and shipping devices internationally. Design device models for vendor teams. Lock devices down to what the work needs. Own the device lifecycle for vendor fleets. Feed ChromeOS device data into our fleet telemetry. Partner with Corporate Security on hardware standards. Run data loss controls through Chrome Enterprise Premium. Support Android as a second platform.

Technical Skills: Python and shell scripting, ChromeOS management through the Google Admin console and Chrome Enterprise, Google Admin SDK, Chrome Policy API, and GAM for automating policy and reporting, Android Enterprise management, GitOps and CI for configuration management.

Salary: The annual compensation range for this role is $325,000 — $360,000 USD.
