Research DevOps Engineer, Software, Center for Quantum Computing

This role is based in Pasadena, CA.

Compensation:

$129,200 - $174,800/year

Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain standardized development environments for research scientists.
• Own dependency, build, and release management across research software projects.
• Develop and streamline CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and rapid deployment.
• Manage hybrid infrastructure spanning cloud services and on-prem physical hardware.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Implement best practices for observability and monitoring.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
• Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with scientists in a research environment.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps features in GitLab Ultimate.
• Experience with networking and network security fundamentals.
