Lab Software Engineer, Control & Calibration, AWS Center for Quantum Computing

This role is based in Pasadena, CA.

Compensation:

$129,300 to $223,600 per year

Responsibilities:

• Develop and integrate telemetry systems for real-time monitoring of laboratory software and hardware.
• Ensure availability and consistency of logs, metrics, and traces.
• Collaborate with science teams to create visualizations from observability data.
• Utilize infrastructure-as-code for continuous deployment of software improvements.
• Mentor and document contributions for team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, Bash, or Perl.
• Full-stack web development experience.
• Familiarity with observability tools like OpenTelemetry and Grafana.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a research environment with scientists.
• Knowledge of AWS tools and services.
• Background in experimental physics or quantum computing.
