Data Engineer, Amazon Prime

Description

Amazon Prime's Member Experience organization leads Research & Development for Amazon Prime. The program serves over 300 million members across 25 countries and is key to Amazon's customer growth and engagement. We build algorithms and systems for automated marketing, personalization, targeting, and decisioning using Artificial Intelligence and Economics. Within the engineering group, we develop world-class solutions to complex scientific and engineering problems at Amazon scale. You will work alongside world-class scientists to build a suite of fully automated, scalable, and robust products driven by the data systems you develop.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of data engineering experience- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines- Experience as a data engineer or related specialty (e.g., software engineer, business intelligence engineer, data scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
