As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Driving product launches, improving productivity, ensuring quality standards, resolving problems, identifying trends, determining and executing system improvements, and implementing change are all part of the job. We need a technical program manager who can organize, coordinate, and drive a multitude of activities across cross-functional teams and cross-organizational partners so that we can deliver on these products.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and programs.
  • Experience in different levels of stakeholder management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with internal product and engineering teams, large customer teams, managing cross-functional programs, and rolling out new technology and solutions.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, balance a broad range of internal and external factors when identifying problems, propose solutions, and make decisions.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to influence people.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate tactical plans and strategy for projects, managing various programs of work, engaging teams and engineers, and setting the pace for project delivery.
  • Become a trusted advisor to decision makers, providing insights to the engineering teams, and influence product direction. This will enable partnerships allowing Google innovation.
  • Develop, build, and evolve metrics with reliable supporting datasets to proactively provide visibility into engineering solutions.
  • Provide quantitative analysis focus, requiring interpretation of technical information from structured and unstructured sources.
