We are looking for a highly capable Tools and Automation Engineer—preferably with prior map-building experience—to deliver sophisticated tooling solutions and provide dedicated support to Apple Maps Production Operations. In this highly impactful role, you will act as the critical bridge between Operations and Engineering. You will manage a diverse contractor team of engineers and testers, working closely with Engineering, Operations Managers, Support Functions, and end-users to build, support, and enhance the tooling and automation used in map-making. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve defining technical requirements, providing strategic input during development, executing end-to-end testing with real-world use cases, and seamlessly deploying solutions to Production. You will proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and implement automation solutions in collaboration with engineering teams, including your own. This role also offers abundant opportunities to put your GIS and tooling expertise to the test, allowing you to solve real-world problems and continuously enhance your skills. Ultimately, you will serve as the go-to technical troubleshooter and trusted problem-solver for your stakeholders, ensuring our Maps Production Operations run flawlessly.
